Description

Aura

Stop fighting things that can't hurt you.

Aura is a small Valheim mod that changes how creatures behave when their attacks would deal zero damage to you.

Instead of repeatedly attacking you for absolutely no reason, they take one look at the situation, realize they're not doing anything, and leave you alone.

It's called auramaxxing.

How it works

If a creature tries to attack you and the attack would deal no damage, the creature will ignore you instead.

For example:

Greydwarf: I shall attack this Viking.

Greydwarf: ...

Greydwarf: Wait, I'm doing 0 damage.

Greydwarf: I'm not getting paid enough for this.

And off it goes.

Creatures that can actually damage you behave normally, so Aura isn't turning the game into a peaceful walking simulator. It just removes those pointless situations where something keeps throwing hands despite having absolutely no chance of accomplishing anything.

Why Aura?

You know those moments where you've become so overpowered that half the creatures around you are basically decorative?

And yet they still attack.

You take no damage.

They die in one hit.

Everyone's wasting stamina.

Nobody is having a good time.

That's negative aura.

Aura fixes that.

You have reached a level of power where certain creatures should simply understand that this interaction is not going anywhere.

Aura loss prevention

Some activities are simply not worth the aura:

  • Fighting something that cannot hurt you
  • Getting repeatedly staggered by an enemy dealing 0 damage
  • Chasing a creature halfway across the biome for no reason
  • Standing there while a creature discovers that its attacks are completely useless

Aura lets you maintain your composure.

Walk past them.

Don't acknowledge them.

Keep doing whatever you were doing.

Stay locked in.

Technical explanation

Aura checks whether an incoming creature attack would actually deal damage to the player.

If the resulting damage is zero, the creature will not continue attacking the player.

If the attack can deal damage, nothing changes.

So, in extremely sophisticated terms:

Can hurt me?
→ Throw hands.

Can't hurt me?
→ Bro has better things to do.

Features

  • Creatures that cannot damage you will stop attacking you
  • Creatures that can damage you are unaffected
  • Works naturally with armor, resistances, and other sources of damage reduction
  • Less pointless combat
  • More aura
  • Scientifically proven to increase your Viking's presence by at least 37%

The last point has not been peer reviewed.

Installation

Install the mod through Gale and launch Valheim.

That's it.

No configuration. No complicated setup. No ancient runes required.

Final verdict

You've spent enough time proving yourself to the creatures of Valheim.

You've killed bosses.

You've conquered biomes.

You've become an absurdly overpowered Viking.

At some point, the local wildlife should simply know better.

Aura gives them that ability.
