MiawAchievements
This is an achievement unlocker for Valheim. Its only purpose is to unlock achievements for your character. It DOES NOT add items, content, or gameplay changes, and it is not a "mod menu" — it grants achievements and nothing else.
A client-side BepInEx mod that gives your character every achievement in the game, then lets Valheim itself deliver the unlocks to Steam (or your platform). It reads achievement requirements from the game you are running, so it keeps working after game updates instead of depending on a hardcoded list.
What it does
One button press, and every achievement becomes unlocked:
- Fills every stat, counter, and collection that any achievement checks.
- Covers all trigger types the game uses, including item crafting, building, taming, boss kills, fishing, food eaten, and world exploration.
- Writes to every difficulty slot, so achievements that are gated per difficulty (for example separate Normal / Hard boss achievements) are not missed.
- Fires the game's own unlock routine, so the platform (Steam) receives each achievement through the same code path a legitimate unlock would use.
How it works (and why it is not a hack)
The mod does not force or fake an unlock. It fills the profile stats that the game itself
reads, then hands off to the game's own logic. Verified against assembly_valheim:
| Fact (from the game assembly) | Consequence |
|---|---|
| The "unlocked" flag is not a saved field — it is recomputed from profile stats on load | filling the stats is enough; there is nothing to spoof |
Achievements.Initialize() auto-unlocks anything that already passes |
unlocks appear normally, including the in-game popup |
| Steam achievement names match the game's internal ids 1:1 | each unlock is reported to the correct Steam achievement |
| Every requirement in the game uses a "greater-or-equal" comparison | raising a stat can never invalidate another achievement |
| Achievement credit is disabled while the game considers the state "cheated" or "modded" | the mod first enables the game's vanilla bypass, so credit is actually recorded |
That last point is the reason this works at all on modded servers: without the bypass, the game
silently refuses to record any achievement progress. The mod enables the game's built-in
bypasscheatchecks character key, which is a vanilla mechanism.
Requirements
- Valheim (tested on the current 1.0.x line; the mod reads requirements at runtime and adapts).
- BepInEx for Valheim. If you manage mods with a mod manager, this is normally already present.
- Singleplayer and client-side use on dedicated servers. See Compatibility.
Installation
With a mod manager (Hexium / Gale / r2modman): install the mod; the manager places the DLL for you.
Manual install:
- Close Valheim.
- Drop
MiawAchievements.dllintoBepInEx/plugins/. - Start the game and load a world.
Usage
- Load into a world and wait until your character has spawned (not the main menu).
- Press F7 to open the panel.
- Choose an action:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Fill all stats + Unlock all | Fills every requirement and unlocks every achievement |
| Report only (writes nothing) | Read-only. Lists each achievement, its requirements, and your current progress. Changes nothing |
| Copy report | Copies the panel text to your clipboard (useful for bug reports) |
Tip: press Report only first if you want to inspect your current state before changing anything. It is completely read-only.
- After using Fill all stats + Unlock all, close the game so Steam can flush, then open your achievement page to confirm.
Configuration
A config file is created on first run at BepInEx/config/idamanmertua.miaw.achievements.cfg.
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
General > ToggleKey |
F7 |
Key that opens and closes the panel |
What to expect (please read)
- Your character's stats become maximum. Kills, distance travelled, items crafted, and every other tracked counter are filled. This is the requirement for the achievements, so it cannot be separated from the unlock. Existing stats are never lowered — the mod only ever raises them.
- The in-game achievement panel may show that cheats/bypass were used for this character. That is the visible effect of the vanilla bypass and is unavoidable when unlocking this way.
- Back up your character file first if you care about it. Valheim keeps characters in
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim\characters\.
Compatibility
- Client-side. The unlock is performed from your game client, using your character profile.
- Singleplayer and dedicated servers. Works on official dedicated servers. If a server forces server-side character storage (a server mod that overrides character saving), the server may overwrite locally changed stats on its next sync.
- Other mods. No known conflicts. The mod does not patch other mods and only touches achievement-related profile state.
Troubleshooting
- Panel does not open: press F7 only after your character has spawned. Check
BepInEx/LogOutput.logfor lines starting withMiawAchievements. - "NOT READY" message: you are still on a loading screen or in the main menu. Load a world first.
- An achievement did not unlock: use Report only and Copy report, then share the text. A requirement that stays unmet is either a change in game data structure or a platform id mismatch — both are fixable.
FAQ
Do I need another "bypass" mod, like Unshamed, to keep achievements enabled while modded?
No. This mod enables the game's built-in bypass (bypasscheatchecks) itself, right before it
unlocks anything, so achievement credit is recorded even when the game reports itself as modded or
cheated. Nothing else is required.
Unshamed solves a different problem: it re-enables earning achievements by playing normally, and adds a requirements guide. It does not unlock anything on its own. Installing both is redundant — not conflicting, but there is no benefit, and this mod will still set the bypass key. Pick one approach: this mod to grant everything, Unshamed if you would rather earn them yourself.
