Plantations
Plantations adds the ability to cultivate wild resources through seeds and spores, with growing seedlings, recurring harvests, a planting grid, and area harvesting.
Pickable Cultivation System
Each plantation is planted with the cultivator using its seed or spore. It starts as a small seedling and grows into an adult plant.
Once mature, the plant can be harvested repeatedly without removing it. Its resources regenerate after the configured production time.
With this system, Plantations provides:
- Cultivable wild resources
- Seedlings that grow into adult plants
- Recurring harvests without removing the adult plant
- Individual configuration for harvest amount, seed amount, seed chance, and production time
- The same configured time for initial growth and resource regeneration
- Optional seed drops from equivalent vanilla pickables
- Grid planting and area harvesting

Available Plantations
Plantations includes the following cultivable plants:
- Dandelion
- Mushroom
- Yellow Mushroom
- Raspberry Bush
- Blueberry Bush
- Thistle
- Cloudberry Bush
- Smoke Puff
- Fiddlehead
All plantations are planted with the Cultivator and appear alongside the vanilla cultivator recipes.
Seedlings need cultivated ground and enough room to grow. Plants can be removed using the cultivator, and their interaction colliders allow players to walk through them.
Harvest and Seed System
Each adult plantation produces its main resource when harvested and can also generate an additional seed or spore according to its configured amount and chance.
Harvesting preserves the adult plantation so it can produce resources again.
The configured production time also controls the seedling's initial growth. For example, a setting of 60 minutes means 60 minutes to mature and 60 minutes between harvests, provided the plant has suitable growing conditions.
Planting Grid
The planting grid places multiple plants in a square arrangement using the cultivator. It supports Plantations seedlings, vanilla crops and saplings, and compatible plants from other mods available through the cultivator.
Available sizes are 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5, with a maximum of 25 plants per placement. The grid starts at 3x3 each session.
Controls
| Default Control | Action |
|---|---|
| F8 | Enable or disable the planting grid |
| F9 | Cycle through 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, and 5x5 |
| F10 | Enable or disable snapping to existing plants |
Keyboard shortcuts can be changed in the configuration. Set a shortcut to None to disable it.
Placement and Preview
- Displays a preview of the plants before placement.
- Highlights the main placement ghost.
- Uses gold lines for rows, turquoise lines for columns, and violet lines for snapping.
- Snaps new grids to existing plants.
- Skips invalid positions while allowing valid positions to be planted.
- Calculates spacing for Plantations seedlings using their adult colliders to preserve room for growth.
- Provides configurable extra spacing for larger plants or compatibility adjustments.
- Preserves native growth conditions: nearby obstacles can still prevent a plant from growing.
Resource Costs
Seeds and other recipe resources are consumed for each plant placed.
The build interface can display the total resource cost to the right of the vanilla cost. For example, 2 (18) means 2 seeds per plant and 18 seeds for a 3x3 grid. The displayed total represents the full selected grid.
Stamina and cultivator durability consumption can be enabled or disabled for additional plants. The first plant retains its normal vanilla cost.
Area Harvesting
Hold Left Shift or Right Shift and interact with a ready plant to harvest nearby pickables. The default shortcut is Shift + E; if the game's interaction key has been changed, use Shift with that key.
- Default radius: 6 metres, configurable.
- Area harvesting can be enabled or disabled independently of the grid.
- Uses native harvesting and multiplayer RPCs.
- Preserves the recurring harvest behaviour of Plantations adult plants.
- Does not automatically replant harvested vanilla crops.
Compatibility with Vanilla Pickables
Plantations can optionally extend seed drops to equivalent vanilla pickables.
When enabled, vanilla resources such as Dandelion, Mushroom, Raspberry Bush, Blueberry Bush, Thistle, Cloudberry, Smoke Puff, and Fiddlehead can also use the same extra seed drop chance.
This affects only the extra seed-related drop. The main vanilla drop is not replaced or modified.
If vanilla seed drops are disabled for a given resource, an external method of obtaining that seed will be required.
PlantEasily is incompatible with Plantations. Install only one of them to avoid overlapping grid planting systems.
Timer Interface

Plantations includes a timer interface for growth and regeneration.
Plantation Seedlings and Pickables
Plantations can display:
- Remaining time until a seedling matures
- A warning when growing conditions are unsuitable
- Ready state
- Remaining time until harvested resources regenerate
Optional Support for Vanilla Plants
The timer interface can also be optionally extended to vanilla crops such as:
- Carrot
- Onion
- Turnip
- Barley
- Flax
This makes it easier to track crop growth during regular farming.
Features
-
Individual Plantation Settings Configure main drop amount, seed amount, seed chance, vanilla seed drops, and production time for each species.
-
Seedling Growth and Automatic Regeneration Grow seedlings into adult plants, then harvest them repeatedly using the configured production interval.
-
Planting Grid Plant square grids from 2x2 to 5x5, with previews, snapping, automatic spacing, and configurable shortcuts.
-
Area Harvesting Harvest nearby pickables with Shift + the interaction key, using a configurable radius.
-
Vanilla Pickable Integration Equivalent vanilla pickables can optionally share the same seed drop behaviour.
-
Timer Interface Support Displays remaining time for plantation regeneration and crop growth.
-
Server Synchronization Plantation production and seed-drop settings are synchronized by the server. Grid preferences and area-harvest controls are configured locally.
-
Game Audio Integration Plantation sounds use the game's SFX mixer and follow its sound-effect volume controls.
Included Pieces
The table lists the adult plant prefabs. Cultivator recipes place the corresponding seedling prefab, using the same name with the _seedling suffix. For example, RD_RaspberryBush_seedling grows into RD_RaspberryBush.

Translation Support
Plantations includes English and Brazilian Portuguese translations and supports custom translations through an external YAML file.
Interface tokens use the plantations_ prefix. Item and plant tokens follow their prefab names. A sample YAML file may be included in the mod package as a template for additional translations.
Installation (Manual)
