Quick Teleport
Fast, reliable portal and dungeon transitions for Valheim. Install it and play: the recommended defaults are ready to use.
Compatible with Valheim 1.0 Deep North update.
What changed in 2.0
Quick Teleport now follows Valheim's current teleport sequence instead of changing legacy timing directly. It waits for the screen to fade, lets Valheim move your character, and gives portal destinations a brief chance to finish arriving before the screen clears. This makes fast travel more reliable on remote servers and around large builds.
Portals and dungeons have their own settings. Dungeons stay fast by default; portals get a small safety delay to reduce buildings, terrain, or creatures appearing late.

Install
Recommended: install with Gale. Gale can use both the Hexium and Thunderstore catalogs and imports existing profiles on startup. Use Gale for Hexium releases; r2modman and Thunderstore Mod Manager do not support the Hexium catalog.
Manual: install BepInExPack for Valheim, then place QuickTeleport.dll in Valheim/BepInEx/plugins/.
Quick setup
Most players should leave the defaults unchanged. To open an in-game config menu, optionally install BepInEx Configuration Manager and press F1.
The config file is BepInEx/config/elg.QuickTeleport.cfg.
| If you want to… | Change this setting |
|---|---|
| Turn the mod off | General / Enable Quick Teleport → Off |
| Keep normal portal timing | Portals / Enable Faster Portals → Off |
| Keep normal dungeon timing | Dungeons / Enable Faster Dungeons → Off |
| Use a longer fade | Set Portal Fade Time or Dungeon Fade Time between 0 and 2 seconds |
| Make a portal slightly more cautious | Raise Portals / Portal Load Safety Delay above its default 0.50 seconds |
| Troubleshoot one teleport | Turn on General / Enable Teleport Diagnostics, reproduce the issue, then check the BepInEx log |
Arrival Safety
Safety / Arrival Safety decides how much must load before you arrive:
- Full World (
FullWorld) — recommended: waits for terrain and nearby objects. Best for normal play and built-up destinations. - Terrain Only (
TerrainOnly): faster, but buildings and other objects can still appear after you arrive. - Immediate: fastest, but you can arrive before the world is visible or fully placed.
Leave Full World selected unless you deliberately want the trade-off. Portal Load Safety Delay only adds a short wait after Full World is ready; its 0.50-second default is a good balance. A large or remote destination can still take several seconds before Full World is ready, because Valheim must first load terrain and nearby objects. Choose Terrain Only if you prefer speed over that protection. Dungeons use no added safety delay by default.
Server owners
Everything is local by default; a server does not need the mod unless it wants to enforce settings. To use one set of gameplay settings for everyone, install the same package on the server and set General / Force Server Config to On in BepInEx/config/elg.QuickTeleport.cfg. Save changes to that file to reload and synchronize them while the server is running. Diagnostics always stay local.
A server using QuickTeleport 2.0 requires QuickTeleport 2.0 for players who use the mod, so synchronized settings and teleport behavior match.
Compatibility
Quick Teleport preserves Valheim's normal respawn and destination-readiness behavior.
- TargetPortal — verified compatible. Choose a destination through TargetPortal's map as usual; Quick Teleport applies its portal fade and arrival-safety settings after the destination is selected.
A mod that replaces Valheim's teleport methods outright can conflict.
ServerSync is included inside QuickTeleport; do not install a separate ServerSync.dll.

Also available on Hexium
The exact same package works on Thunderstore and Hexium. Hexium adds editable READMEs, galleries, discussions, beta releases, private sharing, and recommendations; it is an additional home for Valheim mods, not a replacement for Thunderstore. Browse Hexium or download Gale.
