Warp Network (BETA)
A fast-travel network that is separate from portals. Find a Warp Stone at a boss altar, a Hildir's Quest site, a trader or the Forge of Potential, activate it, and from then on you can travel between every stone you have found from a menu that opens beside the world map.
This is a beta, built to be tested on multiplayer servers. Please report problems (see the bottom of this page). It works in single-player too.
How it works
- Wild Warp Stones appear at the sites listed below. They are indestructible. Walk up and press E to activate one - it joins your network.
- Press E on an already-active stone to open the Warp Network menu: pick a destination on the left (it is shown on the map beside it) and press Warp to. The map closes and you travel.
- Where a stone's unlock is per player, every player has to find it themselves. Traders and the Forge of Potential unlock for everyone the moment anyone finds them (configurable).
- Personal Warp Stone: build one at your base with the hammer (Misc, 20 Stone + 1 Surtling Core). You can have one per player (configurable). Press Shift+E to name it.
- Teleport rules: like portals, you can't travel carrying items that aren't teleportable (metals, the dragon egg...). Configurable, with per-group exemptions.
- Resetting a site: press Shift+E on the stone at a Hildir's Quest or Mysterious Location site to regenerate that site (the stone keeps everyone's unlocks). You are lifted clear and returned automatically. Anyone can do it by default; the server can restrict it to admins.
- Works alongside TortalPortal (optional): a button switches between the Warp Network menu and the portal menu, both ways.
- Works alongside Valheim Runestone (optional): the seven Runestone NPC camps become Warp sites too.
Where the stones are
- All bosses: Eikthyr, The Elder, Bonemass, Moder, Yagluth, The Queen, Fader, and the Frozen King (the stone stands at the Aesir Gate, the entrance to his arena)
- Hildir's Quest sites: Sealed Tower, Howling Cavern, Smouldering Tomb
- The three Mysterious Locations (Dyrnwyn shards)
- The traders: Haldor, Hildir, the Bog Witch
- The Forge of Potential and the Sacrificial Stones (starting area)
- Runestone NPC camps (only if Valheim Runestone is installed)
Multiplayer
Everyone on the server (and the server itself) must have this mod, at a matching 0.2.x version.
- A stone appears once any player's game has its site loaded. The server creates it, so it is there for the next player who arrives - they just activate it.
- The server's settings decide what spawns (the "Enabled sites" options below are synced from the admin).
- The server's
WarpNetwork.placements.txt(inBepInEx/config) decides exactly where each stone stands; clients use the server's spots. - Resets run on the server.
ResetAdminsOnlyrestricts them to admins;ResetNearbyPlayerRangerefuses a reset while another player is close to the site.
Configuration (BepInEx/config/com.monkeymagicman.warpnetwork.cfg)
| Section | What it does |
|---|---|
| Unlock modes | For each category (bosses, Hildir, Mysterious Locations, traders, Forge, Sacrificial Stones, Runestone camps): MustFind (each player finds it) or FindAsGroup (one finder unlocks it for all). |
| Enabled sites | Switch whole categories, or individual bosses, on or off. Turning something off hides its stones and removes them from every network list - unlock data is kept, so turning it back on restores everything. Admin-synced. |
| Teleport restrictions | Enforce the "no metals" rule, and per-group exemptions. |
| Reset | ResetEnabled, ResetAdminsOnly, ResetNearbyPlayerRange. Admin-synced. |
| General | ActivationRange, MaxPersonalStonesPerPlayer. |
Console commands (cheat commands, need devcommands)
warpsites lists every stone, warptp <n> teleports to one, warpitems lists non-teleportable items, and warpmark / warpplace save where a stone should stand (single-player / host only).
Known limitations (beta)
- Multiplayer has had limited testing - that is what this beta is for.
- A stone only appears once someone's game has the site loaded and settled (a few seconds after arriving). Flying or teleporting past a site may not place its stone until you stand near it.
- English only; mouse and keyboard only (no gamepad support yet).
- Stone positions are the same on every map relative to the site, but a few sites may sit awkwardly on unusual terrain - tell us where.
Reporting a problem
Please include your BepInEx/LogOutput.log (and the server's, if it is a multiplayer issue) and what you were doing. Join the Discord from the link on this page.
