Description

Dvergr Reclaimer

An iron machine you build with the Hammer. Fill its crate with old gear and it breaks each piece back down into materials, using Recycle N' Reclaim's yields and rules, then puts the results in your chests.

Development build (0.2.0). Balance may still change.

Building it

  • Hammer → Crafting, near a Forge.
  • Costs 10 Iron, 10 Stone and 2 Surtling Cores, so it's available from the Swamp onwards.

Using it

  1. Load it: open the Reclaimer and put gear in its crate (8×12). Add Coal too, or keep a chest of Coal within 8 m.
  2. Reclaiming: each item takes 30 seconds, like a Smelter's bar, and 1 Coal. While it works, the furnace door glows, the fire crackles and the chimney smokes.
  3. Results go into chests you built within 10 m, preferring chests that already hold that material. Private chests and wards are respected. Anything no chest can take drops out of the chute at the front, the way a Smelter drops its bars. Set "When no chest has room" to Wait to keep results inside until a chest has space instead.
  4. Watch it work: with the crate open, a panel below it shows the coal it holds, the item being reclaimed (with progress) and what it will produce. Hovering over the Reclaimer shows the same summary.

The Reclaimer only reclaims recipes that someone on your world has discovered. Every player counts once they've joined with the mod installed. The AllRecipesUnlocked world modifier lifts the restriction.

Recycle N' Reclaim's crafting-station rule applies, measured from the Reclaimer: to reclaim iron gear, a Forge of the item's level must be within 20 m. Items it can't reclaim stay in the crate, and the hover text says why.

Breaking or deconstructing the Reclaimer drops everything it holds.

With Epic Loot

If Epic Loot is installed, the Reclaimer also sacrifices items that have no recipe, the way Epic Loot's Enchanting Table does. That covers trophies and boss items: the Elder's trophy gives a Rare Runestone, for example. It needs an Enchanting Table within 20 m, and the table's Sacrifice upgrades give the same chance of double products. Magic gear is still reclaimed, and Recycle N' Reclaim returns its enchanting materials. Tested with Epic Loot 0.14.13; it's optional.

Requirements

  • BepInExPack for Valheim 5.4.2351+
  • Jötunn 2.30.2+
  • Recycle N' Reclaim 1.4.5
  • Optional: Epic Loot 0.14.13+

Install it on the server and every client. Mod versions must match.

Configuration

Settings are in BepInEx/config/greatcoltini.mods.dvergrreclaimer.cfg and synced from the server. They cover:

  • the time per item;
  • the fuel item and amounts;
  • the fuel and output radii;
  • what to do when no chest has room (drop in front or wait);
  • the recipe gate and the station radius;
  • hiding R'n'R's Reclaim all button on the crate;
  • Epic Loot sacrificing, and whether it needs an Enchanting Table.

Changelog

0.2.0 Latest
  • Effects borrowed from the Smelter. While it works, the furnace door glows and flickers, the fire crackles and the chimney smokes. Feeding it and finished results get the Smelter's puffs and sounds.
  • Reclaiming takes 30 seconds per item by default, like a Smelter's bar (it was 4). The setting is now Processing > "Seconds to reclaim an item".
  • With Epic Loot, items without a recipe (trophies, boss items) are sacrificed for Epic Loot's materials, as at its Enchanting Table: the Elder's trophy gives a Rare Runestone. It needs an Enchanting Table within 20 m. New settings are under "Epic Loot".
  • Fix: the panel's status line cut long reasons short; it now uses the panel's full width.
  • Items with no recipe now say so, instead of "nobody on this world knows its recipe".
  • The panel's column header says "Sacrificing" while an item is being sacrificed.
0.1.2
  • With no chest in range, or none with room, results drop out of the Reclaimer's front chute, the way a Smelter drops its bars, instead of piling up inside until it stops.
  • New setting, Output > "When no chest has room": DropInFront (default) or Wait, which keeps the old behaviour of holding results until a chest has space.
0.1.1
  • Opening the Reclaimer shows a panel below its crate: the coal it holds (12/40), the item being reclaimed with its progress, and what that item will produce, plus a status line.
  • Fix: the Reclaimer's hover lines (fuel, queue, status) were hidden when My Little UI or another mod rewrites chest hover text.
  • The Reclaimer keeps working while its crate is open, and never takes the stack you're dragging.
